About CCPIC

Local governments bear responsibility for over 80% of the roadway pavement lane-miles in California. These roads carry 45% of the state's vehicle miles traveled. Local governments are working to improve pavements with constrained funding and often backlogs of distressed pavement.

The passage of the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017, State Bill 1 (SB 1), brought much needed funding to local governments for preserving existing pavement and restoring structural capacity to deficit pavement. The City and County Pavement Improvement Center (CCPIC) helps local agencies better repair and maintain California’s roadways.

CCPIC is governed by a board of local government public works officials, including six county and six city officials, along with statewide local government organization representatives and partnering universities.
